Other Lettering Project
CNC Lettering x Fabricate
In 2021 I did a challenging experiment in collaboration with Fabricate (one of the craftiest furniture workshops in Bucharest) as part of the Romanian Design Week. They challenged me to create large format art prints using their CNC router machine for which they developed custom 3D printed arms to hold a 2,4 mm paint marker. The beauty of this experiment stands in the uncontrollability of the process and the need of adaptability for the design.
I created two script styles that were not meant to double cross a line or to continue a letter form the same point last one finished.
The poem in Spanish was constructed with a continuous organic mono line shapes inspired by Art Nouveau with a taller x-hight and swashes.

The one in Romanian is following a more classic copperplate approach where the contrat is created with a double line.
